DANA LISKOVA
I am an empathetic photographer and co-founder of the start-up Arthepy.com. Professional, but still unique. My main focus is people across disciplines.
WHO I AM?
…an explorer and creator at heart. I love the unusual and the adventurous. My interests outside of art include longboarding, surfing, painting, self-development and the humanities. I am an artist, photographer, occasional cameraman, editor and co-founder of the creative therapy project www.arthepy.com.
I currently work in Prague and specialize in portrait and brand photography. I perceive my greatest strength in communication, interpersonal relations, knowing people and creating a pleasant environment for cooperation. My goal and intention is to develop myself so that I can support others who want to discover their potential, transform talents into strengths and learn how to consciously approach their emotions and the emotions of those around them.
One human story contains a whole universe of experiences, inner processes and splits. The path to our “self” is not always easy, and we all need a guide sometimes.
WHAT MAKES ME CHARACTERISTIC?
I am a very empathetic and pro-people personality type. From this point of view, I can say that I establish professional-friendly relationships with clients. My profession started as a hobby and I want to work in a relaxed and friendly environment. Just as clients choose me, I choose them.
Another difference from other photographers can be my several years of active interest in human sciences, psychology and mental health issues. This passion permeates all areas of my life, including my profession. I work with clients very carefully, paying attention to their comfort and naturalness. I often work with people who are new to professional photography, some have shyness, low self-esteem, apprehension and are insecure about posing in front of the camera. I like such clients the most, because it is nice to observe how they warm up during our cooperation. I like to show people how I see them, through my eyes, and how there is something specific and beautiful about everyone. If you are hesitant, don’t be afraid to contact me for a consultation.
WHERE DID I COME HERE
Hello dear reader, I’m going to tell you a story about flying around the world. I come from a very poor family. Where our family tree goes, I wonder. I have three blood siblings and I don’t even know how many non-blood siblings. At the age of 15, life took me from my biological family to the gates of a children’s home, which was my safe home for the next few years. It’s one big adventure and I’m the explorer! I am searching for who I really am in my story and fulfilling my potential. I went to institutional care at my own request with my two younger siblings. However, I had to fight for my place in a safe environment at the authorities. Through all of these experiences, I see flaws in the system that are very uncomfortable and painful for many children. I decided to change that, and that’s why, even after leaving institutional care, I will devote myself to young teenagers.
I can now observe the individual stages that influenced my development and thinking, thanks to which we were freed from the pain of the past. I have been working with my psyche, emotions and mental programs for years. It’s a lifelong job and I hope that one day I will be strong and capable enough to be an angel and give hope to children and teenagers. I am now working on the development of a start-up called Arthepy.com, which deals with creative therapy and skill development. With this, too, I want to contribute to the development of youngsters, such as you see here in the photos.
As I grow, I realize that I don’t have to define myself by some catchy category. I am simply a package of several versions of myself, many skills and passions. A chameleon that can quickly adapt and learn new skills. A seagull that can fight for food while gliding beautifully over the ocean. Artist without a concept. A mermaid who is afraid of the deep but swims in it anyway. So please allow me the freedom to define myself imprecisely — “I am all that one man’s life can contain. I am a version of myself, right now, in this moment.”
Thank you for your interest in my work!
Sometimes it may seem like you need a photographer or videographer, but in reality we need YOU to create and do what we love. The reality is that the creator industry is dependent on client demand. Someone has to like our work so much that they decide to support us in our dreams.
Therefore, thank you for choosing to support my work. I really appreciate it.
